This post is part of a series of blog posts introducing what’s new in Moodle 2.8. This post provides an overview of the improvements to the Choice activity.
The Choice activity allows students to select one option from a choice of multiple responses. This can be useful as a quick poll to stimulate thinking about a topic or to enable students to vote on module issues.
In Moodle 2.8 you can now set up a Choice to allow students to select more than one option in the activity. This feature can be useful if you want to come to a consensus on a module issue so that students can provide, for example all dates when they might be available to attend a revision lecture. The lecturer can then choose the most popular date to run the revision session.
Training and Guidance
Guidance for these new features and existing functionality in Moodle will be available from the 30th of June from www.city.ac.uk/edtechhelp/staff.
To support staff in exploring the new features in Moodle 2.8, LEaD will be running a series of initial workshops on What’s new in Moodle 2.8 after the update on 30th June. These sessions will run for 90 minutes and are suitable for all staff who have responsibility for designing, managing and/or administering Moodle modules. Staff can book a session using this form: www.tinyurl.com/newinmoodle.
