DALI+ enhanced learning spaces for Echo live streaming
There are currently four rooms available with this specification, with the standard DALI technology enhanced for large group teaching by additional microphones to capture student questions. They may be more suitable for Echo lecture capture live streaming than standard DALI rooms, but do not provide the interactive elements of ISLA. Rooms equipped to DALI+ specification are most suitable for larger group teaching, which is less interactive, and where students are in a position to join synchronously either face to face or online.
We would suggest that additional opportunities are made available for group discussion for students attending online, to maximise their educational experience. These could include synchronous online seminars and asynchronous online forums, as well as audience response systems such as City’s Poll Everywhere tool.
Echo Lecture capture live streaming can be enhanced by the new microphones installed across the ceiling in all four lecture theatres in the Centenary Building; Birley, Geary, Oakden & Poynton.
