Cecilia gains funding for research in Rio on informal creative cities
Cecilia has been awarded £4,976 by City University London’s Pump Priming Fund. The scheme supports research across areas considered to be of strategic importance to enable early career researchers to develop proposals with the aim of attracting further funding from external sources. She will use the funds to undertake fieldwork in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, later this year with grassroots cultural organisations and policy-makers in the urban cultural and creative sector. Undertaking this fieldwork will enable the completion of a wider comparative research project on informal creative cities in Latin America. Research findings will be disseminated through publications, conference presentations, knowledge-exchange workshops and an international conference at City University London. As part of this scheme, Cecilia will also prepare new grant applications to attract external funding to support public engagement activities and international collaborative research.
