Selfie humanitarianism: new journal article for Ros

Ros Gill is a contributor to a fascinating  new special issue of the media

and cultural studies journal Continuum on “post girl power”. Edited by

Anita Harris and Amy Dobson (from Monash and Queensland) the collection

poses the question of whether we are now “post” the “girl power” that

animated the 1990s and first decade of the 21st century. Contributors

include Sarah Banet Weiser, Jessica Ringrose and Laura Harvey. Ros writes

with former Leverhulme Fellow Ofra Koffman and Shani Orgad (LSE) on how

humanitarianism is being reframed by a “selfie” ethic.
