Congratulations to Dr Laura Favaro

Congratulations to Dr Laura Favaro who was awarded her PhD on Feb 17th with no corrections. Her examiners, Professor Sarah Banet-Weiser (Director of Communications at the Annenberg School in LA) and Dr Shani Orgad (Associate Professor of Media and Communications at the LSE), both commended Laura’s work as one of the best Doctoral Dissertations they had ever read. It as already been published in several articles. Laura will now be working on turning her thesis into a book, as well as applying for post-doctoral positions.

Laura has made a huge contribution to the Department of Sociology through her great energy and enthusiasm, helping to set up the Gender and Sexualities Research Forum, co-organizing many events and making many friends with the Department and wider University. Her supervisors, Ros Gill and Lia Litosseliti, plus all her friends and colleagues, send warm congratulations on this marvellous achievement!
