The Culture Mile

The City of London, in collaboration with the London Symphony Orchestra (soon to be joined by Sir Simon Rattle), The Guildhall School of Music, The Barbican, and the Museum of London has launched an new initiative called The Culture Mile, which is developing an initiative not only to market the cultural opportunities of the City of London, but also to promote and develop the cultural ecosystem that sustains it. The media has covered the launch extensively. CCI’s Andy Pratt has been advising the team on future plans for developing the hub as it develops. The initiative includes the future plans to replace the site of the Museum of London with a new concert hall, and the relocation of the Museum closer to Farringdon. With the development of Cross Rail, Farringdon will become the ‘new Oxford Circus’ for London in both cultural and transportation terms. And, City University is right on the doorstep.
