Keyti from the JTR inaugurates CCCI annual event series
On May 8th, the Centre for Culture and Creative Industries (CCCI) kicked off its annual event series to celebrate for a month the World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development (May 21st.)
As first event of this series, CCCI welcomed a Masterclass led by hip hop artist Keyti, co-anchor of the Journal Televise Rappe. This masterclass on ‘Hip Hop, Digital Media, and Public Service in Senegal’ was co-organised in partnership with the ‘Transforming Creativity Research Group’ and the MA Global Media and Management of the Winchester School of Art at the University of Southampton. The respondent for the event was Dr Estrella Sendra Fernandez (Winchester School of Art).
The event was attended by a diverse audience from UCL, ICA, LCC, people from outside academia as well as MA Culture, Policy and Management students at City, University of London – both current and alumni. From masterclass to screenings, CCCI event series ‘From Senegal to Singapore: Creative Spaces in a Globalised World’ runs until June 4th, gathering a range of international experts from across the fields of culture and creative industries to showcase and share their experiences of developing spaces for arts and creativity in their countries.
