Organised creativity in Berlin
Andy attended a conference at the Frei Universitat in Berlin this week. It was linked to a large research project managed by Prof Jorg Sydow on the creative industries from the perspectives of economics and management studies.
The seminar over two days was a great example of ‘slow academia’ all papers had a discussant and there was plenty of time of discussion and reflection from the whole seminar group. Andy particularly enjoyed the debate in such an interdisciplinary and international setting. Contributors were drawn from management and organisational studies, economics, geography, sociology and anthropology as well as cultural studies: all focused on key questions concerning the emergence of new organisational forms and innovation in the creative economy.
Andy has been working with this leading group of interdisciplinary scholars for many years.
