Horizon 2020 funding success

 Prof Andy Pratt has won a Framework 7, EC Horizon2020, research funding. This 4-year project, entitled ‘Creative Industries Cultural Economy Production Network’ (CICERONE) is funded under EC’s Research and Innovation Action, responded to the European Commission’s call ‘Inclusive and sustainable growth through cultural and creative industries and the arts’. The project will be coordinated by University of Amsterdam. City is one of the 9 ‘Beneficiary’ members of the consortium and a principal contributor to the project. Total EC award is just under €3M, of which, City will receive €566,537(representing 19% of the total grant). Andy will establish the European Cultural industries Observatory as part of the research process.

The focus of the project is for capacity building in policy making as a response to the increasing trans-local production networks for the cultural industries that are increasingly making placed-based policy making ineffective. The project is likely to begin in January 2019, and as well as 20% of Andy’s time, a post-doc will be employed, as well as some short term employment for MA CPM students.
