Eisner Award Nomination

Black Comics: Politics of Race and Representation edited by Sheena C. Howard and Ronald L. Jackson II (Bloomsbury, 2013) has been nominated for a 2014 Will Eisner Comic Industry Award for Best Scholarly/Academic Work. The Eisner Awards are the North American comics publishing industry’s most prestigious honour. Results will be announced in July at Comic-Con International in San Diego, CA.

Black Comics includes an invited chapter by CCI staff member Dr Casey Brienza, titled ‘Beyond B&W? The Global Manga of Felipe Smith.’
