Latin American World Cities Culture Forum takes place in Buenos Aires
The Regional Summit of the World Cities Culture Forum (WCCF), a collaborative network on cultural policies for world cities, took place in Buenos Aires on 26-27 August 2014, hosted by the city’s Ministry of Culture. With the aim of exploring innovative solutions to common problems in the Latin American cultural sector, delegates from the municipal governments of Rio de Janeiro, Santiago de Chile, Montevideo, Buenos Aires and London (as the founder of the WCCF initiative) discussed the nature of cultural policies for social inclusion, the role of the state in cultural planning, the challenge of capturing data in the sector, and the need to work with civil society organisations in contexts of social inequality. Cecilia Dinardi played a leading role in curating the programme of the event, facilitating its organisation with BOP Consulting and writing the policy briefing, which will be soon available in English and Spanish on the WCCF website.
