The Windy City in August

For the third year in a row, Dr Casey Brienza has co-convened a Media Sociology Preconference which will be held on 21 August 2015 ahead of the Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association. Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management has generously agreed to host the day-long event at its downtown Chicago campus.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Tressie McMillan Cottom (Virginia Commonwealth University, starting fall 2015). A special plenary session organized by Laura Robinson (Santa Clara University) on “The Future of Digital Sociology” will feature Shelia Cotten (Michigan State University), Eszter Hargittai (Northwestern University), Saskia Sassen (Columbia University), Judy Wajcman (LSE), and James Witte (George Mason University).

Registration is open; fees are set at $20 for faculty and $12 for students/low income
