Widening Participation Project Officer
I’m Ben, one of the WP project Officers at City. My job is to talk to primary school students about University, organising cool events to give pupils a taster of what it’s like to be a Uni student! The other half of my job is managing the tutoring scheme with Leanne and Hannah, helping to train our City students as tutors to support Maths and English in London schools.
What’s the best part of your Job?
I get to work with loads of different people – academic experts, school teachers, loads of amazing Year 5 and Year 6 students and ambassadors and tutors! I feel that I’m part of a huge network of everyone in schools, Universities and families who are working to make University accessible to everyone.
How long have you been at City?
I’ve been here for four years as of September!
Tell us a bit about yourself!
I liked Uni so much I went back again (twice) to study Archaeology. I really love learning and teaching about the past, science and evolution. I play way too many video games in my spare time and I’ve always got a book (or two!) on the go too.
