World Cities Cultural Forum , Istanbul: City make an impact
In November 2013 three members of CCI were in Istanbul at the World Cities Cultural Forum, organised by the Greater London Authority and involving 22 world cities. Prof Andy Pratt was involved in the previous ‘world cities cultural audit’ and the recent world cities culture report, which was launched at the time of the Olympics in 2012 in London. Andy advised on the methodology for the reports. In Istanbul Andy chaired discussion sessions with cultural leaders from world cities.
Dr Dinardi conducted research into the cultural sector of Latin American cities for BOP Consulting, compiling cultural statistics and contributing to the writing of city profiles.
Ulrike Chouguley a new PhD student at CCI also played a significant role in this and the previous reports; Ulrike is new to City, but is an experienced research consultant who formerly worked for BOP.
