Andy interviewed in The Guardian
Prof Andy Pratt was interviewed as part of an article about ‘making Town Planners cool‘ in the Guardian today (in the Cities section). The article, written by Tom Campbell who happens to have written a novel called The Planner, and used to be a senior cultural planner at the GLA, is really about the way that planning, as a technical and rule obsessed behaviour of the stereotype, has changed (if it was ever thus). Cities of today require skilled professionals with range of skills, particularly now, knowledge of the complex roles that culture plays in economies and cities. Just the sort of issues that those students at City on the MA CPM and BA CCI programmes are getting!
