BA CCI students visit the Chocolate Factory Open Studios
Last week BA CCI students visited the Chocolate Factory Open Studios in Wood Green, London. The Chocolate Factory provides affordable studio and workspace, hosting more than 200 artists across the creative industries including photography, painting, sculpture, design, fashion, jewelry, new media, music, film and more.
Denise Stanley, a cultural and creative industries specialist and honorary lecturer at City University, gave a talk in which she introduced the work of Collage Arts, which is running the Chocolate Factory as part of its commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the cultural sector.
Among Collage Arts’ projects is Aspire2Create, which focuses on recognizing non-formal learning in the cultural sector. Collage Arts is also involved in the European Cultural Learning Network, exploring cultural learning in informal, non-formal and formal situations.
The Open Studios were a great opportunity to see unique artwork, meet creatives and learn about this thriving creative hub in North London.
