On Friday 10 June department PhD researcher Kate Mattocks participated in a summit on Women in Political Studies, which was held at the University of Edinburgh and organised by the Political Studies Association’s Women and Politics specialist group.
Kate spoke on the panel Moving Through the Profession: Pipelines, Parenthood & Participation and co-presented findings from a research project on equality and diversity in politics PhD study. The article, co-authored with Shardia Briscoe-Palmer from the University of Birmingham, will appear in European Political Science later this year. It examines challenges faced by women, BME, and disabled researchers when completing a PhD in politics.
