The Centre for Culture and Creative Industries from the Dept of Sociology had a strong presence at the inaugural CAMEo conference, ‘Mediating Cultural Work: Texts, Objects and Politics’ at the University of Leicester the other week. CCI PhD students Emma Jones and Kathy Williams attended, with Kathy (pictured) presenting a paper, ‘Spatial Mediation: democratic access and the production of space at Southbank Centre’. Janet Merkel discussed co-working and Jo Littler talked as part of a panel on meritocracy.
