Central Asia creative industries

Prof Andy Pratt has been invited on to the steering group on the British Council’s Central Asia creative industries initiative. Andy began his his work in Kazakhstan last year giving a keynote at a conference/seminar in Astana on developing the creative industries in Kazakhstan (a report can be downloaded). This meeting led to Andy helping colleagues from local universities develop the first creative industries mapping of Kazakhstan, Andy visited Almaty and Astana earlier this year to share the results with policy makers. The current project seeks to explore the potential for a region-wide mapping including Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, Andy will be visiting Kazakstan again in November.
