Laura in the Huff Post

Laura Thompson (Phd candidate , Sociology, supervised by Prof Ros Gill) has been interviewed for a series of articles by the Huffington Post on ‘cyberflashing’. In the first, she commented on the results of a YouGov poll which found 4 in 10 millennial women have received unwanted ‘dick pics’. She also criticised the notion that it is up to women to protect themselves from being sent unwanted images. Discussing some of her research findings in the latest article, she argued the act can amount to intimidation. You can read more about the press work Laura has done on this issue and around her PhD here.
