Turin: Training the next generation of cultural intermediaries

Andy was in Turin on 10th Feb lecturing to students on the MA in Cultural Projects for Development which is offered in association with UNESCO World Heritage Organisation, and the University of Turin. The sessions take place at the UN/ ILO/ International Training Centre (which was formerly accommodation for athletes in the Turin winter olympics: so that’s one re-use!). The atmosphere at the ITC is always stimulating as students are sponsored by cultural agencies all over the world to take time out to study; it is one of many an all year round programmes of this sort run at the ITC for a range of UN agencies. Andy has been a Visiting Professor at Turin since this programme was initiated a decade ago. Andy was discussing issues associated with culture and development,  cultural statistical measures, and local capacity building (based on the expertise he has contributed to UNCTAD and UNESCO reports).
