Through the Industrial Consortium, City’s Centre for Compressor Technology provides a forum for industry and academia to coordinate pre-commercial (TRL 1-3) research on industry-relevant compression technologies for the energy transformation sector. The industrial partners can also benefit from a tailor made service whilst fostering a broader cross-business sector understanding of compression technology developments.
As we enter the second year of the CERES industrial consortium, we are excited about our regular spring meeting that will be held on the 27th of March at City, University of London. In the meeting, academics from City will present proposals for new potential projects. The proposals were prepared in the past months based on the previously defined topics collected from the industrial members of the Consortium. The proposals will contain technical aspects of the project, explain how they are related to the requirements of the industrial partners in the Consortium, define benefits to the Consortium as a whole and a detailed budget & expected duration of the project. Members will have the chance to discuss presented proposals and to vote on which of the proposed topics are most relevant. Based on the input from industry members and available funds, a second group of projects will be chosen to start this year.
During the day, attendees will have the opportunity to explore updates in the laboratories of Thermo-Fluids Research Centre at City, University of London.
We are delighted to anounce that we will have a guest speaker, Dr. Stefan Elbel, Research Assistant Professor and Co-Director of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Elbel will speak about Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Center, it’s research highlights and operation.
