Marisol at ESA in Prague
Last month Marisol Sandoval participated in the 12th annual conference of the European Sociological Association (ESA) in Prague.
Marisol presented her recent work on cultural co-operatives and their potentials to challenge problems of inequality, precariousness an individualisation in cultural sector work. Her presentation was part of a session on Re-inventing Worker Politics organised by the Sociology of Communications and the Media research network (RN18).
RN18 also organised a very successful semi-plenary session where Angela McRobbie and Jim McGuigan discussed the The Legacies of Stuart Hall and Richard Hoggart for the Future of Marxist Studies of Media and Culture.

At the conference Marisol was elected to be the vice chair of RN18 for the next two years. In this role she will be supporting Romina Surugiu and Roy Panagiotopoulou who will be co-chairs of the network.
