Research Resource of the Month: Academic Search Complete

Academic Search Complete is a multidisciplinary database containing full text articles, reports, conference proceedings and books in nearly every area of academic study. It is updated daily and contains articles going back as far as 1887.  Academic Search Complete articles are indexed in CityLibrary Search.

It’s an EBSCOHost product, so you can search it in conjunction with any of our other EBSCO platforms, which include Business Source Complete, Art Full Text, PsycArticles, and more.  To do this, use the ‘Choose Databases’ option at the top of the search box.


It features a comprehensive advanced search screen, and filters to allow you to narrow down your results to just the right articles. Filters include:

  • Content type, including a button to ensure you only find peer-reviewed research
  • Date ranges
  • Specific publications
  • Subject terms, allowing you to select articles with only specific tags and keywords
  • language
  • location
  • general industry and specific companies.
