Educational Technologist

Lisa Baker is an Educational Technologist in the Digital Education team in LEaD. She is based at Bunhill Row and she provides support and training for academic and professional colleagues in the Business School, Law and SMCSE. Lisa provides educational technology support for various technologies including Moodle, and for the past few years she has worked closely with colleagues in the Business School and IT on a project to develop the peer assessment activity in Moodle. Lisa has previously given presentations on the peer assessment activity at various stages of its development to the Moodle User Group in London and at the University of Glasgow’s annual teaching and learning conference in 2019. The activity has recently been released into the global Moodle plugins directory as the Peerwork activity.
Lisa joined LEaD in early 2013, following successful completion of an MSc in Learning Technologies in 2012. Her dissertation was on the use of Moodle by academic staff. In 2019, Lisa successfully completed the MA in Academic Practice at City. Her dissertation focussed on the influences of online learning on online teaching. Lisa has previously worked at City in the HR Department and in IT Training, and she also has a BSc in IT and Computing from the Open University.
In addition to providing training and support for Moodle, Lisa assists colleagues to use other learning technologies including Turnitin, Blogs, Kaltura Mediaspace, Poll Everywhere, Lecture Capture, Zoom and Teams.
