Happy New Year! We’re starting off 2022 with some exciting library workshops to support your studies and research.

1. Eikon Webinar
Eikon is a powerful financial database used among professionals to track markets, make trades and keep abreast with current events. City Library provides students with both remote and on-campus access to Eikon via Refinitiv. The training sessions will focus on helping students get the most out of the platform.
2. Successful Employability with the Financial Times
The Financial Times publishes high-quality journalism that is widely read by leaders around the world. City Library is able to provide access to the FT.com to all current students and staff. In this short session, trainers from the FT will demonstrate how to utilise the Financial Times website to stay up to date with current events, research employers and prepare for interviews.
3. Marketline Webinar
Marketline is highly useful when applying for jobs and preparing for interviews. We’re so excited to welcome Rob Pearman from Marketline to demonstrate how to get the most out of this international market research database.
4. Library Essentials
Do you need a reminder about some of the resources and services available at CityLibrary? Did you miss your library induction? Then this 30-minute workshop is perfect for you.
5. Using Proquest Refworks in your research
Have you got a browser full of tabs you’re terrified will get accidentally closed? With Refworks you can quickly store all the things you’ve read in one place, access them again on other devices, and bonus, it automatically generates references for your reference lists! Learn how to get the most out of this magic programme in our online session.
6. Finding Market Research
This library-led workshop covers how to find market and industry information from databases, including Marketline Advantage, Mintel, Euromonitor Passport, IBISWorld and Statista.
7. Finding Company and Financial Information
Knowing how to use financial databases can give you edge in your coursework as well as on your cv. This workshop led by me helps you get the most out of online financial databases including Fame and Mergent.
8. Introduction to literature searching for your School of Health Sciences undergraduate dissertation
Not quite sure where to get started with your health sciences dissertation? This workshop will introduce SHS students to using EBSCOhost and Ovid to search for journal articles.
9. Advanced literature searching for your School of Health Sciences undergraduate dissertation
Looking for top marks on your undergraduate dissertation? This workshop will cover some extra tips to help you plan and carry out a literature search.
10. Managing your research process and the information you find for your School of Health Sciences dissertation
The research process is complicated. This workshop will highlight the advantages of managing research effectively, and introduce some tools and approaches which can help.
