What is More Books?
More Books is a scheme that allows City undergraduates and taught postgraduates to suggest books that would be useful for their studies. It might be for a project you’re working on, an area you wish to explore in your research, or anything else that would help you get ahead – just fill in the More Books form to let the Library know.
Want to see what others have been recommending?
Some of the books we’ve purchased through your “More Books” suggestions can currently be seen on display on Level 5 of Northampton Square Library. Have a look at the photo gallery below for a glimpse of what your fellow students have found useful and interesting, and feel free to come browse and borrow from the display if you’re around the campus these days.
If you won’t be coming to the university in person in the near future, or simply prefer e-books, you can see all that we’ve bought through More Books and the other book recommendation schemes in “Your Voice” reading lists. Perhaps seeing such a diverse collection of themes and topics may inspire you if you’re looking for ideas for a project, or maybe you come across something you’d like to read over the winter break.
What other book recommendation schemes are there?
Liberating CityLibrary is the option to go with to help us diversify the Library collection with books by people who belong to different marginalised groups and communities. If you are a PhD student or a member of staff who’d like to recommend a book that would be useful for your research, Read for Research scheme is the one for you.
Happy book recommending and reading!
