Personal and Professional Development

We have several sessions open for booking in the latest installment of the popular summer blockbuster – The Summer Training Programme!  Find the full listings on  Libcal.  There’s a playful theme to some of our sessions as Stephen Penton will be hosting Copyright the Card game on Thursday 7th July before colleagues from LEaD run a Games Jam on Tuesday 19th July.

Develop@City: On Thursday 14th July, City’s Organisational Development showpiece event returns to campus for the first time since 2019.  Make sure you register and sign up for sessions in the busy programme, which includes massages!

Be a buddy?

We’ve been doing a lot of recruitment recently in Library Services.  So it’s quite a timely point to remind colleagues, old and new, that we have a library buddying scheme – to help support colleagues joining the library team, or moving into a new role.   If you’re interested in helping to be a buddy and support a new colleague, helping them get familiar with the weird and wonderful ways of City and its surroundings, please let us know by email – librarysdg@city.ac.uk


Digital Skills – Excel for beginners

Here are some starter from LinkedIn Learning tips to get familiar with Excel from a beginner’s perspective.  It’s a good starting point with advice on formatting, functions, formulas and basic PivotTables.
