New Fiction Titles at Cass Learning Resource Centre

Wondering what to do this summer? Why not borrow one of the new fiction titles we have at Cass Learning Resource Centre.

The fiction books at Cass LRC are a great way to relax in-between your studies, or on your work break. We have a variety of titles to suit every type of reader…

If you like a good mystery, then we have IQ by Joe Ide, which has been described as ‘a Sherlock re-imagining in a gritty LA setting’. Or if you would prefer a lighter read then we have A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn, the first in a murder mysteries series, set in Victorian London.

If you want to have a good laugh instead, we have Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman about a very British apocalypse. We also have Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams, which is a whirlwind book full of surreal comedy, time-travel, and mystery.

If you like a shorter read, we have some great short story collections available. How Long ’til Black Future Month? by N. K. Jemisin is a collection of speculative stories, exploring different areas of science fiction and fantasy by an award-winning author. We also have Girl, Balancing by Helen Dunmore, a posthumous collection of her short stories, focusing on war and womanhood.

We now have two new graphic novels. Best We Could Do: An Illustrated Memoir by Thi Bui is a personal account of the author’s family fleeing Vietnam in the 1970s. We also have The End Of Summer by Tillie Walden, her debut graphic novel, a fantasy story about a young boy who lives in a secluded castle with his family.

If you would like to read one of our new fiction books, you can borrow them from Cass LRC. If you are a student or member of staff at another City, University of London site, you can request the books to be sent over to Northampton Square Library or The City Law School Libraries.

Happy Reading!

(Note: Cass LRC will be closed from Saturday 13th July – Sunday 21st July inclusive. Requests during this time will not be fulfilled).
