Monday 25th June – Sunday 15th July
Level 4 of the Northampton Square Library will be closed Monday 25th June – Sunday 15th July inc. This is to allow for the installation of energy efficient lighting.
In order to minimise disruption we have scheduled this work to take place in off-peak times, apologies for any inconvenience this causes you.
To allow you to continue using the items that are kept on Level 4 we will be operating a fetching service throughout the works.
Requesting items
If you need a book from Level 4 (classmarks 001-299 inc.) then fill in the form from the book’s record in CityLibrary Search and we will fetch the items for you. You will then be able to collect them from the Requested Items Collection area on Level 2. The link to the form will be available from the 25th July.
We will be fetching items three times a day, on weekdays only:
- Requests submitted by 10.15am will be ready for collection at 11am
- Requests submitted by 1.15pm will be ready for collection at 2pm
- Requests submitted by 4.15pm will be ready for collection at 5pm
- Requests submitted after 4.15pm will be available at 11am the next working day
Please note, we will not be able to fetch items at weekends or after 4.15pm on weekdays. We will not be able to fetch items on Thursday 12th July. Items requested after 4.15pm on Wednesday 11th July will be ready to collect at 11am on Friday 13th.

Silent study spaces
Due to the works taking place on level 6 from Thursday 21st June to Tuesday 31st July inc., silent study spaces will only be available on Levels 5.
For the same reason, there won’t be any silent study PC lab available at the Northampton Square Library during this period.
Silent study and computing facilities are also available at the Law Libraries (Gray’s Inn Place and Innovation Centre) and at Cass Learning Resources Centre.
