Do you use tools like Skype or Adobe Connect in your teaching or collaborative research? Have you ever tried to bring a remote speaker into a seminar, or attempted a live collaboration between people at different sites? How well do your webinars run, when all participants are dispersed across different sites?
On Wednesday Feb 21st (13:30 – 14:30), three of City’s academics will come together to share their experiences of blended synchronous delivery, with a variety of examples of mixing co-located and remote participants, interacting and even collaborating in real time. The event is being run as part of International City Week 2018.
Join Dr Ivan Sikora (SMCSE), Dr Steven Truxal (City Law School) and Rebecca Wells (IFSTAL Teaching Fellow, SASS) as they talk about their experiences with blended live teaching. They will describe what they have gained from their experiences and some of the challenges they have encountered along the way. There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and questions.
If you’re on campus, there will also be lunch provided at this event. If you can’t make it onto campus, you can catch up with the event online. Register to join the live event here, or to participate online here. Use #CitySkypeYouIn to join in with the conversation via Twitter.
Are you coming to C309 next Wednesday or shall we Skype you in?
Well done Dominic! I am eager to be a part of this story 🙂 again, and again!
