As part our series on what’s new in Moodle 3.6 (15th July 2019), this post explores assessment improvements.
Multimedia feedback
- Lectures will be able to provide short, personal feedback to students on Moodle assignments using the new record feature on the Moodle assignment grading interface. Dr Mark Glynn from DCU has provided a really helpful video overview of this new feature.
- Lecturers can provide detailed visual feedback for students on Moodle assignments by uploading image based feedback.
Quiz improvements
- The Quiz statistics feature provides analysis of the Quiz and its questions which helps provide insights for staff on the effectiveness of the questions and students’ performance on the questions. This report has an improved user experience in Moodle 3.6.
- The Drag and Drop Markers is a Quiz question type that enables students to indicate key features on an image. This question type is now easier for staff to edit.
The next post in this series will explore the new and improved My Moodle page in more detail.
