Academic and Professional Services staff are invited to take part in this year’s Jisc Digital Experience insights survey to find out more about how you and your colleagues are using technology and how this affects your teaching and/or professional practice.
The Jisc Digital Experience survey is a national survey which over 100 UK HE institutions take part in, allowing us to be able to benchmark our digital provision with others in the sector. Students are also taking part in a student version of the survey.
Completing the survey will help us to:
- Find out how you would like technology to be used in learning and teaching and/or to support your professional practice
- Understand how you use our digital environment and services and how we could improve them
- Target resources towards the issues that matter to you
- Start a conversation with you about your digital skills, expectations and experiences.
There are two staff surveys, one aimed at teaching staff and a second aimed at professional services staff. Please complete the one most appropriate for your role.
The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and is primarily multiple-choice. Once you have completed the survey you will have an opportunity to enter into a prize draw to win one of four £25 shopping vouchers. The deadline to complete the survey is 24 June.
The results of the survey are reviewed by the Digital Literacies Project group, a collaboration between colleagues in LEaD, IT, Library and Organisational Development teams, who are helping us improve technology, training and service provision for all.
Following your feedback to the survey in 2019 we were able to procure access for all staff and students to LinkedIn Learning, a huge library of online tutorials; employ a Digital Skills Co-ordinator and Student Digital Assistants to support our students; created a draft Digital and Information Literacies framework for City and organised events to support flexible working and learning.

Thursday 16 June | 12pm
To find out more about what we do to develop and improve the digital experience for all staff and students, join us at our upcoming lunchtime forum on Thursday 16 June.
At the event we’ll explore what digital literacy in a hybrid world is all about, with an opportunity to help contribute to the development of a Digital and Information Literacy Framework for City, and meet the teams that help us build our digital capability.
