Write a history of the End of the Oil Age, set in the 21st Century.
It was the end of the Oil Age. For centuries, oil had been the lifeblood of the world, powering everything from cars to planes to entire economies. But now, it was all coming to an end.
The first sign of trouble came in the early 21st century, when oil prices began to spike and then skyrocket. Governments and corporations scrambled to find new sources of energy, but nothing could replace oil.
As supplies dwindled, the world began to change. Nations went to war over the last remaining reserves. The global economy collapsed. And, eventually, the lights started to go out all over the world.
For the first time in centuries, the world was plunged into darkness.
But out of that darkness, a new future was born. Renewable energy sources like solar and wind power began to take off. People started to find new ways to live and thrive without oil.
And slowly but surely, the world began to rebuild.
The Oil Age was over, but the world was just beginning anew.
