Welcome to Learning Spaces at City St George’s – A New Induction Video from LEaD
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting new staff in their teaching journey, the Learning Enhancement and Development (LEaD) directorate is excited to launch a new induction video focused on Learning Spaces at City St George’s, University of London.
This video is a key component of the LEaD Staff Induction Programme, which runs every term and is designed to introduce new academic staff to the tools, spaces, and support available to enhance learning and teaching across the university.

In the video, you’ll be guided through:
- The pedagogical principles behind the design of our learning spaces
- How technology is integrated to support flexible, inclusive, and engaging teaching
- Examples of innovative classroom setups and digital tools in action
- Insights from senior educational technologist, James Rutherford, who is the Project Lead, on space design and the learning environment
The video complements the in-person induction sessions, which include interactive opportunities to meet LEaD staff, explore services such as The MILL (Media and Innovation Learning Lab), and learn about digital accessibility, academic development, and student support.
Whether you’re teaching in a seminar room, lecture theatre, or hybrid environment, understanding how to make the most of our learning spaces is essential. This video is a great starting point for discovering how LEaD can support your teaching practice.
Watch the video now via Mediaspace, and from there, you can explore more resources to help you get started.
