City, University of London seeks to recruit an Educational Technologist as part of Learning Enhancement and Development (LEaD). LEaD is a multiskilled service that supports, develops, and influences education at City. We contribute to educational strategy; run a Masters in Academic Practice; work with staff to further develop their pedagogic practices; help implement and develop educational technologies and learning spaces; and support students in need of learning support or counselling. The Educational Technology Team (ETT) within LEaD is responsible for supporting the University’s approach for using technology for enhancing teaching, learning and assessment and the development of appropriate and engaging learning spaces.
The Educational Technologist will work as part of the School Liaison team for Cass Business School, the City Law School and the School of Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science (SMCSE), with a primary focus on SMCSE. The role involves working with academic and professional staff on school-specific educational projects and initiatives, providing support and training where required. The postholder will also have the opportunity to work with the Ed Tech Project Leads on cross-institutional projects, such as the Learning Analytics Project (LeAP) and Designing Active Learning Initiative (Learning Spaces).
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting educational technologies, such as the VLE and lecture capture systems, and providing advice and guidance on the appropriate use of technology to support learning, teaching and assessment. They will also have experience of managing small-scale projects and delivering training on a one-to-one and small group basis. A collaborative approach, excellent communication and organisation skills and the ability to work flexibly in a complex working environment are essential requirements.
