On Monday (25th January 2016), the Educational Technology Team, part of Learning Enhancement and Development (LEaD) based at the School of Health Sciences ran the first of what we hope are termly Educational Technology Innovators events. This was a lunchtime event from 12-1pm, with two demonstrations on the Echo pen (Rachael-Anne Knight) and Poll Everywhere (Alison Coutts) and some information from us.
Both presentations had questions from the audience and a lively discussion followed, including a recommendation of using Explain Everything (an app that allows you to record your iPad, tablet or PC screen and voice over a document or write on the tablet, as if it was a whiteboard). We also had a general discussion about how the Educational Technology Team can support School of Health Sciences staff.
The idea of the Educational Technology Innovator event was for staff to share their ideas and learn new things from each others. As Educational Technologists, we were only facilitating this event. We got a good turnout of staff from across the School in the breakout space in Myddleton Street Building. We’d like to thank both presenters for their time and to everyone who came to the event – we hope you learned something new!
