LEaD Webinar Series
Working in Higher Education can leave many of us pressured for time, juggling competing priorities and making it difficult to engage with continuing professional development. With this in mind, the Educational Technology Team has been investigating creative solutions for delivering high-quality development opportunities for City staff. Having explored the potential of interactive online sessions, we are piloting a new webinar series to make professional learning more flexible.
Last month we hosted our first ‘Bring Your Own Lunch’ webinar, with participants joining the online session from their own desks. Focused on a single topic, 40-minute sessions will take place during typical lunch hours, making it easy to drop in between other commitments or meetings. Each webinar provides an opportunity to engage directly with experts, ask questions, and participate with online activities. Webinars will be recorded and posted on this blog for staff to watch or review at their own convenience.
Initial feedback has been positive, and we plan on continuing this series over the coming months. More information about the next session will be available shortly, and should take place mid-July. Our first topic discussed the ways online collaboration tools can be used for teaching and supporting group work. You can view the embedded recording below.
