Ducks in a row: playful approaches to learning

Have you developed a game for use with students on your course? Do you use usual or creative approaches for engaging people in workshops that you run or perhaps when trying to get your team to collaborate? Or perhaps you would just like to find out more about how to try out these approaches? Come along to a newly formed Playful Practice group being facilitated by Susannah Quinsee (Director of LEaD) and Jane Secker, Senior Lecturer in Educational Development.

The first meeting will take place on Tuesday 11th February from 11-12pm in A227. It is open to all and designed to be a supportive ‘community of practice’ for staff interested in creative approaches to teaching, learning or others aspects of university life. Come along, share your ideas and meet similar like minded people.
We intend to meet at least once a term, and the group will be relatively informal, but we’ll encourage different people to share their ideas at the meetings. We will draw up a short agenda for the meeting based on people’s interest and participation. In the first meeting Susannah and Jane will share some approaches they have used in their teaching including developing games and using Lego.
If you would like to register your interest in the group, then please sign up here, even if you’re not free on the 11th February. We will also be creating an online space using Microsoft Teams to encourage people to share their ideas between meetings.
