Moodle in a Minute: Module Page Editing Improvements

As part of our series exploring what’s new in Moodle 3.6, this post explores the improvements when editing module pages.

Quick access to editing features and Settings

  • Turn editing on and Settings have been moved to the top of the page to facilitate editing and updating of module pages, resources and activities.
  • If a module is hidden this will now display above the Dashboard so that you can easily make it available to students by clicking on Show Module and confirming.

Hide the Dashboard when editing

The Dashboard which provides quick access to key resources for students can be bulky when editing, so when in edit mode you can Toggle dashboard to quickly get to your content. The Dashboard will always be visible when editing is switched off so that you can see what is displaying for students.

Mass Actions

We have activated the Mass Actions block on module pages to support staff in moving content between sections and in completing mass actions such as deleting a number of resources at once.

Our screencast provides an overview of these improvements.
